Lewis & Clark Sports Facilities

Lewis & Clark’s full complement of athletics facilities, located in and around Pamplin Sports Center, are open for recreational use, during posted hours, by students, faculty, and staff with a valid L&C Identification card. Lewis & Clark students, faculty and staff may purchase athletic facility passes for their dependents at the Physical Education and Athletics main office during normal business hours.

The main gymnasium in Pamplin Sports Center has three full basketball courts which also serve as volleyball courts and indoor practice facilities for several intercollegiate teams. The gym seats 2,300 in comfortable padded bleachers.
The Pamplin Sports Center houses a 3,600-square-foot, fully equipped Weight Room.
Eldon Fix Track and Fred Wilson Field at Griswold Stadium is located immediately west of the Sports Center. More than half of Griswold's 3,600 seats are under cover. The field was renovated in 2010 and features a state-of-the art Astro-Turf Game Day 3D Synthetic Surface.

The Huston Sports Complex, just down the hill from the main campus and behind our law school, is the home of Pioneer softball (right) and baseball (left) teams. Both fields enjoy full dugouts, hitting tunnels, scoreboards, and spectator seating.

The Zehntbauer Swimming Pavilion, which houses an eight-lane, 25-yard pool with one and three-meter diving boards. The pavilion, with its fully automatic Colorado timing system, has been the site of an NAIA National Swimming Championship meet.
Immediately north of Pamplin Sports Center are indoor and outdoor tennis courts within the Tennis Dome. An air dome covers three of the courts which are available year around.

The Pioneers' home cross country course is located at Milo McIver State Park near Estacada. Originally designed as an 18-hole golf course alongside the Clackamas River, it was obtained by the State Park Bureau after the developer abandoned it just prior to completion.
Eastmorland Golf Club is the home course for both the Pioneer Men's and Women's Golf Teams.

In addition to the indoor pool and domed tennis courts, there are other recreational opportunities with the outdoor Estate Pool and Estate Courts.
The Pioneer crew teams have a Boathouse at Oaks Park. The rowers practice on the Willamette River, but host home meets both on the Willamette and at Vancouver Lake.
The co-educational Training Room for intercollegiate athletics is staffed by two full-time certified trainers, a part-time assistant trainer, and student-trainers. It is located in the Pamplin Sports Center next to the Weight Room.
