Sharon Sexton was named the Assistant Director of Athletics/Senior Woman Administrator at Lewis & Clark in July of 2007. Before coming to L&C, Sexton spent eight years working at Otterbein College, a Division III institution in Ohio, where she has served as the Head Women's Volleyball Coach and Head Women's Golf Coach. At Otterbein, her volleyball teams qualified for the OAC Tournament in each of the last six seasons. Six athletes, who have played under Sexton, are listed as OAC season-, or career-record holders. Her players have also found success in the classroom. The Cardinals have been recognized for six consecutive years by the American Volleyball Coaches Association as Team Academic Award Winners. The 2005 squad maintained a 3.659 cumulative grade-point average throughout the entire academic year and ranked among the top of all NCAA Division III institutions. Her golf teams won four straight OAC titles (2003-2006). She is a four-time OAC Women’s Golf Coach of the Year selection, earning the honor in 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006.

A native of Centerville, Massachusetts, Sexton came to Otterbein after serving two years as an assistant coach at NCAA Division II Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio. During her stint as an assistant at Ashland University, Sexton completed her master’s degree in Education in 1999. Sexton played her collegiate volleyball at NCAA Division I St. Bonaventure University, a member of the Atlantic Ten Conference, located in Olean, N.Y. A four-year letterwinner and team captain, she competed at both the middle and outside hitter positions. Sexton completed her undergraduate education in 1996 with dual degrees in English and Spanish and a minor in Psychology.
