PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark
Athletics Department held its 2nd Annual Student-Athlete
Thank-A-Thon January 28-31 to acknowledge those who have
contributed to the athletics programs at L&C.
Over 100 student-athletes representing each sport in the
department volunteered their time to write letters to nearly 500
donors nationwide to thank them for their financial support of
Lewis & Clark Athletics.
"We make every effort to educate and shape our students," said athletics director Clark Yeager. "We are attempting, at the very grass roots of our organization, to foster a culture of philanthropy that can sustain and enhance Pioneer athletics forever."
The L&C Athletics Department relies on private gifts, as
well as other external revenue sources, to meet its annual funding
needs. Contributions to the Pioneer Athletics Club are used to fund
the department and facility needs for over 350 Pioneer
student-athletes, including travel and recruiting.
