SAAC Partners with Special Olympics for NWC Coin Drive

PORTLAND, Ore. - At the final regular season home basketball games, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will participate in a Northwest Conference-wide Coin Drive Challenge to raise funds for the Special Olympics Oregon.

Last year, the Lewis & Clark SAAC and student-athletes raised over $3100 for Special Olympics. This year, on February 17, the student-athletes will be wearing their uniforms around campus and hosting various events throughout the day to collect money.

The event will culminate at the home basketball games against the University of Puget Sound, where Special Olympian basketball players will be in attendance and will play at half-time of both the women’s and men’s games, beginning at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. respectively.
