Special Olympians Join SAAC to Cheer on Volleyball Team

On Saturday, Oct. 26, 15 Special Olympic Volleyball players and their four coaches came to Pamplin Sports Center to cheer on the Lewis & Clark volleyball team. Some of the Special Olympic athletes have participated in Student Athlete Advisory Committee events in the past and were excited to get to watch the team play again. The Special Olympians were some of the loudest fans in the stands that night. After the game they came down from the stands to meet the team and participate in the closing circle led by Lewis & Clark head coach Stacie Matz.

This event is a part of the continuation of efforts started two years ago for Lewis & Clark’s SAAC to foster a strong partnership with Special Olympics Oregon. Donations to SAAC at previous BBQs hosted at different sporting events on campus are a large part of the support allowing us to host more of these events in the future.
