Won national honors in three sports—football, wrestling and track. 1st team NAIA all-Amer-ican offensive guard and twice 1st team all-Northwest Confer-ence lineman; two-time NWC shot put champion in track & field, setting an L&C record in the event of 51 feet,  7 inches; he went on to finish 7th in NAIA national meet;  won 191-pound conference wrestling championship two times and was sixth in NAIA nationals as a senior.  (Inducted in 1979)
