Three-time Pacific Coast Inter-collegiate wrestling champion; won as a heavyweight in 1955 and 1956 and at 191 pounds in 1957; only three losses in his collegiate career were in the NCAA national championships;  four-year starting tackle on the football team; all-American honorable mention and all-NWC as a junior and senior.  (Inducted in 1979)
