A four-year letterman in football and basketball at Albany College; played halfback, quarterback and end the last four years the college was located in Albany; all-Northwest Conference as a senior; also lettered in track and field; a member of the first graduating class after the college moved to Portland.  (Charter member of Hall of Fame, inducted in 1978)
