he football team, he averaged 6.1 yards per carry for his career, rushing for 1,731 yards; he led the team in rushing in 1956; he led the Northwest Conference in scoring in 1954 with 58 points; he had 171 career points including 19 touchdowns, 51 conversions and 2 field goals; a three-time all-NWC player,  he earned 1st team UPI all-Coast honors  as a senior, and 2nd team as a junior; a four-year letterman outfielder  in baseball.  (Inducted in 1980)
