A 1st-team All-Northwest Conference and honorable mention NAIA All-American in 1974-75 in leading the Pioneers to the conference championship.  Hartung is currently 17th on the career scoring list with 1,220 points and 10th on the rebounding list with 780.  He is 18th among the single-season scoring leaders with a 17.7 points per game in 1976-77.  Hartung’s teams advanced to the District 2 playoffs three out of four years.(Inducted in 1997)
