4-year letter winner in both football and basketball.  Northwest Conference pole vault champion in 1947, ‘48, and ‘49.  An integral member of 1949 track team, Lewis & Clark’s first conference championship.  Earned All-NWC honors as an end on the football team in 1949.  Team member of Hall of Fame 1950 football team that finished with a perfect 9-0 record and defeated San Francisco State, 61-7, in the Pear Bowl.  (Inducted in 1996)
