The Lewis & Clark College Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1978 to pay permanent tribute to Lewis & Clark student-athletes who, through excellence of achievement in athletic competition, have brought a high level of honor and recognition to themselves and the College. | |

A. Criteria of Eligibility for Induction-Individual 4. Nominees’ names will remain in the pool of possible inductees for a period of three years. If the nominee has not been selected by the Hall of Fame Committee for induction after being in the pool for a period of three years, such nominee’s name will be deleted from the pool and will have to be resubmitted for further consideration. D. Hall of Fame Committee 2. All members of the committee should be either alumni of Lewis & Clark College, current college staff, or past staff. 3. Effort should be made to have representation on the committee of previous Hall of Fame inductees. |

| 4. The Hall of Fame Committee will be self-perpetuating. 5. A chair will be elected by the committee. The Director of Athletics and Sports Information Director will hold appointed positions on the committee. The Director shall act as administrative liaison to the committee. 6. The Committee will meet at least three times a year on dates established by the chair. Such meetings should be held to: (1) evaluate the previous induction ceremony and recommend necessary changes, (2) to establish the date and time for the next induction, (3) to receive and evaluate nominations for the next induction ceremony; (4) after an appropriate time to review nominations, to vote on new inductees; (5) to assist in the planning of the induction ceremonies and events. E. Presentation 1. New inductees will be honored at appropriate ceremonies as determined by the Hall of Fame Committee. Such recognition, in the form of luncheons, dinners, and other public ceremonies will take place at times and locations determined appropriate by the committee. 2. An appropriate plaque certifying the induction into the Hall of Fame will be presented to each inductee. A similar plaque will be mounted in the Hall of Fame case in the Hall of Fame Foyer in Pamplin Sports Center. 3. Costs of the induction, including those of producing the plaques and staging the ceremonies, will be worked out by the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics in conjunction with appropriate department budgeting procedures and with additional support, when possible, from the Pioneer Athletics Club. | |
