Baseball Drops Season Finale
The Pioneer baseball team wrapped up the 2008 with a wild game against Oregon Tech with the OIT Owls handing the Pioneers a 15-8 loss. Jordan Shibata homered in the first at-bat of the final game of his Pioneer career.

Baseball Sweeps Senior Day
The Pioneer baseball team swept Saturday's doubleheader against the visiting Patten Lions, winning 4-2 and 6-5. Seniors Jordon Smiley and Dan Meehan each had victories on senior day.

Baseball Takes Three From Boxers
Jordon Smiley pitched a two-hit shutout in game one, giving the Pioneers a 3-0 victory over the Pacific Boxers in a game played at Lake Oswego High School Sunday afternoon. Tucker Laurence earned his seventh win of the season in game two, leading the Pioneers to a 6-1 victory.

Baseball Splits with Pacific
The Pioneer baseball team fell 14-4 in game one of Saturday's doubleheader against the Pacific Boxers. The Pioneers scored in the bottom of the eighth to win game two 4-3. David La Douceur earned his first collegiate victory.

The Pioneers fell 7-0 to the Division I Portland Pilots Wednesday afternoon at Joe Etzel Field in North Portland. David LaDouceur and Dan Meehan eached pitched scoreless innings for the Pioneers.

Tucker Laurence was named the Northwest Conference Pitcher of the Week for his complete game shutout victory over the #12 Linfield Wildcats Sunday in McMinnville.

The Pioneer baseball team split Sunday's doubleheader, falling 2-1 in game one and then stunning the #12 team in the country with a 4-0 victory in game two. Jordan Wlodarczyk hit a three run shot to support Tucker Laurence in his shutout victory.

The Pioneer baseball team dropped the first two games of their weekend series against the #12 Linfield Wildcats, falling 10-4 and 8-2 in McMinnville Saturday. Roland Greene hit the first home run of his collegiate career for the Pioneers.

Baseball Plays 2+ Games
On Sunday, the Pioneers and Puget Sound Loggers started the day playing three scoreless innings to finish off game two of the series, the Loggers holding on for a 9-4 victory. In game three, the Pioneers gave up a late run to fall 7-6 to the Loggers. TJ Witkowski had three hits in the game for the Pioneers. The Pioneers fell 10-2 in extra innings in the final game of the series.

Baseball Wins 17-7 Saturday
The Pioneer baseball team opened their four-game weekend series with the Puget Sound Loggers with a 17-7 victory in a shortened seven-inning game Saturday at the Huston Sports Complex. Sami Morgan and Jordan Wlodarczyk each hit a grand slam for the Pioneers. Game two was suspended after six innings and completed Sunday morning with the Pioneers falling 9-4.

The Pioneer baseball team finished off their four-game sweep of the Whitman Missionaries with 8-3 and 14-4 victories Sunday afternoon. AJ Brown hit a grand slam in game one.

The Pioneers won both games of Saturday's doubleheader at Whitman, 12-5 and 12-4. Ryan Kostecka had three hits, including two triples, driving in four runs for the Pioneers.

The Pioneers and the Whitworth Pirates split their Saturday doubleheader with the Pioneers taking game one 14-4 before falling in game two 1-0. AJ Brown drove in seven runs, all in the first game.

The Pioneer baseball team kicked off their spring break with a pair of losses, falling 5-3 and 11-3, to the Whitworth Pirates Friday afternoon at the Huston Sports Complex. Sami Morgan hit a home run for the Pioneers. Neal Finch drove in three runs.

The Pioneer baseball team split Sunday's doubleheader against the Pacific Lutheran Lutes, winning 3-2 in game one before falling 9-2 in the nightcap. Tucker Laurence threw a complete game to lead the Pioneers to the victory in the first game.

The Pioneers closed out their four-game weekend series against the George Fox Bruins, falling 10-6 in extra innings in game one and 11-4 in the finale. Sam Holman had three hits for the Pioneers.

The Pioneers fell 8-4 in the continuation of Saturday's suspended game. They lost 9-1 in the first of their two scheduled seven-inning games before pulling out a 10-8 victory in the final game of the series. Jordan Wlodarczyk had six hits, including two home runs. Jordan Shibata had four hits.

Baseball Conference Openers
A five run eighth and six run ninth was not enough for the Pioneers as they fell 15-13 in game one at Willamette on Saturday. Game two was suspended in the sixth inning (due to darkness) with the Pioneers trailing 4-3.

The Pioneer baseball team finished off their Southern California trip with their second split of the weekend, falling 12-1 in the first game and then rebounding with a 7-3 victory in game two.

The Pioneer baseball team opened the season with a split of a doubleheader at Pomona, falling 7-6 in game one and then earning a 7-5 victory in game two. Ryan Kostecka had five hits, including a home run. Jordan Shibata hit two HR's for the Pioneers.

Incoming Pioneer Baseball Players
(Baseball, July 23) The Lewis & Clark College Department of PE & Athletics is preparing to welcome in a class of talented first-year student athletes. With more students committing to Lewis & Clark every day, the Pioneers already have 102 recruited student-athletes who have paid deposits to attend the school in the fall. This is over a 100% increase above the number of new student-athletes that arrived on Palatine Hill last fall.
