SPOKANE, Wash. - The Lewis & Clark baseball team finished game three of its four game trip to the 'Swing into Spring Classic' with a 14-0 loss to Northwest Conference foe Puget Sound.
Lewis & Clark falls to 0-5 on the season, while Puget Sound improves to 4-1 overall.
Puget Sound took the lead in the first inning with a single run after a Pioneer balk allowed the Logger shortstop walk home. The Loggers managed to put four more runs on the board over the next five innings to take a 5-0 advantage.
Ryan Strombom, who collected the loss, pitched the first six innings for the Pioneers striking out three. Puget Sound tallied nine runs in the seventh and eighth inning, stopping any hopes of a Pioneer comeback.
Lewis & Clark closes out the classic on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. against Willamette.
