Baseball Ends Season With 8-2 Loss to Linfield

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark baseball team lost its final game of the season to No. 1 Linfield 8-2 on Sunday in Northwest Conference action. Prior to the start of the contest the Pioneers honored lone senior Geoff Wertz

Linfield started the scoring with a single run in the second inning courtesy of a sacrifice fly to left. The Wildcats tacked on two more runs in the fourth with help from the Pioneers. With the bases loaded, another walk brought in the first run of the inning. A fielder's choice moments later allowed the second run to come in.

The Pioneers pulled within a run in the fifth on a two RBI double by Michael Kinkenon that brought in Eric Hyun and Bradley Lezak.

The Wildcats responded with two runs in the top of the sixth to counteract the Pios two runs. Linfield ended the game in the ninth with its final three runs, earning the win, and the Northwest Conference Regular Season Championship.
