Baseball Brings in Another Large Class for 2014 Season

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark baseball program once again brought in a large class for the upcoming season with eight players joining the roster. The Pioneers lose just one player from the 2013 team and are set to return 25 players, including Northwest Conference All-Conference Second-Team members Eric Hyun and Michael Kinkenon.

Last season the Pioneers finished 9-31 overall (6-18 NWC) and won back-to-back conference series for the first time in recent years. An already young squad, Pioneer head coach Tom Flynn is excited about the addition of the new players and looks for the team to continue to grow and move in a positive direction.

The new class offers the Pioneers both depth and size. Six of the Pios incoming players are 6'0 or taller. Lewis & Clark will add three more pitchers to the rotation giving them a total of 17 pitchers for next season. The team also adds a handful of outfielders and two true middle infielders.
