PORTLAND, Ore. - Lewis & Clark head football coach Chris Sulages announced the addition of Kevin Takeno to the Pioneers full-time staff for the 2013 season, where he will focus on the running backs.
"We are excited to have Kevin as a full time staff member," said Sulages. "His football knowledge runs deep having been raised in a football family. This coupled with his personality and understanding of student-athlete's from different ethnic and socio-economic back grounds will strengthen the Pioneer Football program."
Takeno helped the Pioneers out during the 2012 season as a volunteer assistant coach. Prior to joining the Pioneer coaching staff, Takeno played for the Pios from 2005-07 before transferring to Portland State where he started as a linebacker. With the Pioneers, Takeno was named to the 2006 All-Northwest Conference Second-Team, while earning All-Conference Academic honors and Scholar Baller honors with the Vikings. Takeno graduated from PSU with a BA in Communication.
