PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark athletics department hosted a Pioneer Amateur Athlete Night sponsored by the Office of the President, Academic Affairs Board, and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee to invite faculty and staff to explore and test their skills with current student-athletes on Monday, February 4 in the Pamplin Sports Center.
Headed by head women’s basketball coach Juli Fulks, the event offered staff and faculty the chance to perfect their golf swing, try on football pads and helmets, play volleyball, shoot some hoops, take a swing in the baseball and softball batting nets, as well as try out a rowing machine and hit tennis balls over a net.
Current student-athletes and coaches from each of L&C's varsity sports were on hand to educate and offer opportunities to ask questions and get first-hand experience in the life of an athlete.
