NEWBERG, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark men's golf team concluded the George Fox Invitational at Chehalem Glenn Golf Course on Sunday afternoon tied for fourth place with the Bruins.
The Pioneers and Bruins both finished with a team score of 675 after two days of competition. The Pios finished day two with a team score of 338 after shooting a 337 yesterday.
Sophomore Jack Matthews shaved four strokes off his score on day two, finishing with an 80 after shooting an 84 in the first round. With a two-day score of 164, Matthews finished the invite tied ninth.
Har Rai Khalsa finished tied for 15th place with a two-day score of 167 (83+84). Freshman Calvin Flax ended his day with an 88 for a two-day total of 172 (84+88) and 20th place. Freshman Mark Spathas bounced back on day-two, cutting four strokes off his score, following up his first round 90 with an 86 today. Eliot Smith ended the day in 28th place with a score of 191 (85+105).
The Pioneers return to action on Oct. 23 when they compete in the Northwest Conference Fall Classic.
