GEARHART, Ore. -- Robert Wang and Jacob Bell finished their second round of golf with scores of 80 and 79 to finish in the top 30 for Lewis & Clark. Bell battled hard to improve his score by five strokes from yesterday's score of 84.
The other Pioneers finished the second round with a little improvment. Spencer Long scored an 82 which is also afive stroke improvment from yesterday. Kade McCoy had a score of 86 while David Furman finshed with 93.
Lewis & Clark placed 7th overall with a score of 656, 15 strokes behind George Fox's B team.
Lewis & Clark will be playing in the Northwest Conference Fall Classic this weekend at Quail Valley Golf Course in Banks, Ore.
Robert Wang is in sixth place to highlight the first round for the Lewis & Clark Pioneers at the George Fox Invitational at Gearhart Golf Links on Saturday.
Wang shot a 4-over-par 76 to sit seven shots back of first-round leader Trent Jones of Willamette. Wang is part of a five-way tie.
None of the other Pioneers shot better than 84. Jacob Bell and Kade McCoy are in 31st place with 12-over-par 84s, while David Furman is one stroke back in 34th place. Spencer Long totaled an 87 and sits in 39th place.
Willamette leads the team standings, four strokes ahead of George Fox. The Pios are in seventh.
The final round is on Sunday.
