Women's Tennis Too Much For Bruins


BEAVERTON, Ore. – The Lewis & Clark women’s tennis team took another Northwest Conference match from George Fox, defeating the Bruins 7-2 on the road. The Pioneers swept the Bruins in doubles, earning all three points, while picking up four of the six singles points.

The Pioneers earned two of their points with ease, as the Bruins could not field a whole squad, forfeiting the No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.

Amalia Nilsson earned a victory from the No. 1 singles spot, easily taking down Mollee Robinson 6-2, 6-0. The Pios received another singles point from the No. 2 spot, with Whitney DeBree blanking Betsey Ann Penman 6-0, 6-0. The final singles point came from Clio Beatty at the No. 5 singles spot as Lauren Miller fell 6-0, 6-1.

Nilsson and DeBree teamed up in the No. 1 doubles spot to defeat Robinson and Penman by the final of 8-2. From the No. 2 doubles spot, Mika Yokoyama and Alix Dixon picked up a hard fought 8-6 win over Shanna Lesire and Courtney Banks.

The Pios return to the court on Sunday, March 29 as they take on Willamette on the road at 10:30 a.m.
