PORTLAND, Ore- The Lewis & Clark men’s
tennis team had a positive but rough go against a quality Division
I opponent Saturday at the Lewis & Clark Tennis Dome. Seattle
University swept the Pioneers 9-0 in their first match of the
season.
Seattle University seemed to be just a step ahead of the Pioneers
all day long. Trying to match the big serves and powerful ground
strokes of its Division I foe, the Pioneers just couldn’t
match up. Cole Pfeiffer had a tough introduction to collegiate
tennis by losing his first match 6-0, 6-0. All three doubles
matches were highly competitive even though the scores did not
reflect it. Fans were treated to some high intensity tennis with
jaw dropping shot making from both teams.
The Pioneers play their next match against George Fox on Friday,
Feb. 12 in the tennis dome.
