LC Men's Tennis Team Swept By The Wildcats

By Jimmy Chau

Inspired play the night before gave way to tired legs and a strong Wildcat team, as LC gets swept 9-0. Playing in their first away match and first match in the elements, the Pios couldn’t get it going as Linfield rolled.

In singles action, Tal DeWitt and Mitchell Davidson cruised to 6-0, 6-0 victories over Wataru Nakamura and Quinn Roth-Carter respectively. The only Pioneer to not have played four matches the night prior, because of lingering shoulder injuries, Cole Pfeiffer battled in a 6-3, 6-2 loss. Peter Ray played a close first set but ultimately fell 6-4, 6-1 to number one player, Mark Magdaong. The Pios had a little early success at number three doubles but ultimately fell, 8-3.

The Pioneers continue their weekend of top competition against Division I Portland State University away at 2 pm.
