Women Finish Sweep Of Season Series Versus UPS

PORTLAND, OR.- Looking to gain some momentum to head into the conference tournament with, the Pios win their second match in a row versus the Univ. of Puget Sound. A 9-0 victory was spearheaded by strong doubles play, as the Pioneers got the evening off to a rocking start while only giving up two total games in doubles play. Izzy Borris and Jill Coleman teamed up to produce an 8-0 victory as did Whitney DeBree and Maggie Peach.
In the singles flights, Lisa Harunaga, a senior playing her last home match of her career, delighted the fans with an impressive performance with a thorough 6-1, 6-0 win at number two singles. The Pioneers' other senior, Maggie Peach, closed out her last home match with a nail biting 7-5, 7-6 (2) win at the number six singles flight. Borris continued her "perfect" night by not giving up a game in singles either with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Devin Fields. The coaches were pleased to see the seniors play well in their last home matches in front of their fans.
The ladies play a rescheduled match at Willamette University on Easter Sunday at 10 pm.
