Men's Tennis Falls to Willamette in Heartbreaking 5-4 Loss


PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark men's tennis team fell to the Willamette Bearcats in a heartbreating 5-4 loss at home in the Tennis Dome.

The two sides split singles points, with the Pioneers top three players picking up wins. Kevin Ross led the way from the No. 1 spot with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Sam Wexman. 

Carter Gee-Taylor made quick work on Will Cooper, taking down his opponent 6-0, 6-1. Daniel Hahm earned the final singles point with a 6-2, 6-0 win from the No. 3 spot over Devin Abney.

The Bearcats earned the advantage in doubles play, taking two out of the three for the win.

Ryotaro Tokura and Lucas Fodor earned the Pioneers lone win with an 8-1 victory from the No. 3 spot.  

The Pioneers return to the court on Saturday, Feb. 23 against Whitman at 11 a.m. in the Tennis Dome.
