Men's Tennis Battles Texas Lutheran During Spring Break Match


SEGUIN, Texas - The Lewis & Clark men's tennis team battled the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs on Wednesday during its spring break trip but were unable to pull out a win, falling 5-4.

The Pioneers split with Texas Lutheran 3-3 in singles, but were on their way to a win but the teams No. 1, Kevin Ross, was forced to pull out due to a knee injury. Ross led his opponent 3-0 before retiring

Daniel Hahm earned a 6-3 win in both sets to earn one point for Lewis & Clark, while Carter Gee-Taylor fought to a 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 victory at the No. 3 position. Ryotaro Tokura collected the Pios other singles point, defeating his foe 6-4, 7-5. 

A 2-1 advantage in doubles helped the Bulldogs pull out the win. Ross and Hahm were the only doubles team able to pick up a win, pulling out a tight 8-6 defeat.

Lewis & Clark returns to the court on Thursday, March 28 against Southwestern (TX).
