PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark men's tennis team continued to challenge itself on Saturday afternoon, hosting Division I member Seattle University. Seattle defeated the Pioneers 7-0 after playing Division I rules.
The Pioneers No. 1 doubles duo of Michael Brewer and Kevin Ross fought hard forcing a tie breaker. The pair faced off against Tason Bediones and Kevin Lynch, eventually falling 9-8 (7-3). Daniel Hahm and Cameron Smith (No. 2) fell 8-1, while Carter Gee-Taylor and Morgan Joyce (No. 3) lost 8-4.
Lewis & Clark did what it could from singles. Brewer played as the Pios No. 1, falling 6-0, 6-3, while his doubles partner, Ross, fell 6-0, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. Hahm fell at the No. 3 (6-1, 6-3), Gee-Taylor (No. 4) lost 6-0, 6-1 and Scott Monismith (No. 5) fell 6-2, 6-0. Freshman Ben Sands played at the No. 6 for Lewis & Clark dropping both of his sets 6-0.
The Pios return to action on Saturday, Feb. 22 at home against Pacific Lutheran at 1 p.m.
