Brewer Named to Northwest Conference First-Team; Ross Second-Team

FOREST GROVE, Ore. - Freshman Michael Brewer and Sophomore Kevin Ross were named to the Northwest Conference All-Conference list as announced by the league office Thursday. Brewer earned a spot on the first-team and Ross was named to the second-team.
Brewer was Lewis & Clark's number one singles player where he went 9-5 overall and 9-1 against conference opponents. Brewer beat 2013 and 2014 Player of the Year Colton Malesovas 6-7, 6-3, 6-4. Playing most of the season at number one doubles and some at number two he finished 6-10 overall with partners Ross and Cameron Smith. Brewer was the lone freshman named to the NWC first-team. He is currently ranked 22nd in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) West Region singles rankings.
This is Ross's second consecutive year making the NWC All-Conference list. Ross compiled a 10-6 record overall and 9-3 record against conference opponents playing most of the season in the number two singles spot for the Pioneers. In doubles, he finished 7-8 playing primarily at the number one and two spot with partners Brewer and Morgan Joyce.
The number four-seed Pioneers travel to top-seeded Whitman on Friday to begin the NWC playoffs. The match is set to begin at 10 a.m.
