Men's Tennsi Slips To Willamette in Conference Action
SALEM, Ore., - The Lewis & Clark
men’s tennis team fell in Northwest Conference action to
Willamette on Sunday evening by the final score of 7-2 on the road.
The Pioneers fall to 1-7 on the season and 1-5 in the NWC, while
Willamette improves to 4-1 in both the NWC and overall.
Both of the Pioneers points came in singles action, with Vincent
Groot earning the teams first point. Groot faced-off with Andrew
Murakami in the No. 1 singles spot, taking him down in two straight
sets 7-5, 6-3. William Parker grabbed the teams other point from
the No. 5 spot when he knocked off Micah Mack in two straight sets
with a 6-3, 6-4 victory.
The Pios return to action on Saturday, March 6 when they play host
to Pacific at the Tennis Dome with the first serve set for 4 p.m.
