2006-07 Pioneer Rowing Season Recap

The Pioneer men's crew team won the first Conference
championship for any Lewis & Clark rowing team since rowing
became a varsity sport at the College. The team earned the title at
the NCRC Championships on April 21 at Lake Stevens, Wash. Victories
for the men's novice 8, novice 4, and second novice 4 as well as a
third-place finish for the varsity 8 helped the Pioneers earn the
team points total and the Conference title. At the WIRA
championships the following week, the novice men again had a strong
showing with top-ten finishes for the varisty pair (fifth) and
novice 4 (ninth).
The women's team didn't quite live up to the previous year's
success. The team came into the season ranked #13 in the nation,
but fought against injuries and other obstacles all season. The
varisty 8 finished fifth at the NCRC Championships. The team only
had two other boats competing, the varsity pair, who finished
fourth, and the novice four with a fifth-place finish.
