The Pioneer rowing team opened their spring season at the Behind Ross Island regatta Saturday morning on the Willamette River (results). 

The Pioneers finished second in the women's eight and the men's four. 

"A great season opener for our team. All of our boats rowed very well and the performances reflect well with where we are in our training. I'm very proud to see the strides this team has taken since last year and I'm looking forward to getting into the meat of the sprint season."
