FOREST GROVE, Ore. -- When the fall competitive season opens this weekend at the American Lake Fall Classic, there will be a familiar face going against the Lewis & Clark Pioneers. Former Lewis & Clark assistant coach Karolyn Milton will be leading the rowing team at Pacific after she was selected as the team's new head coach last month.
Milton started coaching with the Pios in the fall of 2014 and has been the lead novice coach since.
"Karolyn has been an absolutely integral part of our program, a phenomenal assistant and is dearly loved by the rowers she helped teach," said Lewis & Clark head coach Sam Taylor. "Her novice classes form the backbone of our program and she has contributed so much more than can be easily expressed here."
Lewis & Clark's novice four was third at last year's NWC Championships.
Milton's other duties at Lewis & Clark included recruiting and teaching walk-on athletes. She also worked with the second varsity eight crew in several spring seasons.
"She'll do great work at Pacific, but I know our rowers and the entire coaching staff will miss her greatly," said Taylor.
The Lewis & Clark fall season concludes with the Charlie Brown Regatta and Orange vs Black Regatta the final two weekends of October.
