Quickcap: Lewis & Clark rallies, splits with Willamette

SALEM, Ore. -- Lindsay Yearman's single to left field brought in the first of seven runs for the Pios in the top of the fifth inning, and helped the Pioneers overcome a four-run deficit, to win 8-5 over Willamette on Saturday at the WU Softball Field.

Yearman singled in Zoe Juarez before Stephanie Garcia reached on a fielder's choice, scoring Tiana Rosario. The Pios got a sacrifice bunt from Emily Drevdahl to score Yearman before an error tied the game when Jenai Rojo reached on an error and Garcia scored. Ateisha Norton followed with a three-run homer to center field, her fourth of the season and second in as many games.

Sarah Reyes earned her first collegiate victory after pitching three innings and allowing no runs on two hits. Jill Pinder got the save.

In the second game, the Pios scored when Holly Hale crossed the plate on Brooke Koran's sacrifice fly, but Willamette won 3-1.

The teams play another doubleheader on Sunday.
