Swimming vs Whitworth

The Pioneer swim teams fell in their dual meet versus the Whitworth Pirates on Friday night with a women's score of 121-84 and a men's score of 139-53. (Results)
The Pioneer women captured thirteen top tree spots on Friday night--four of those were first place finishes. Lindsay Nixon (junior, Chino Hills, CA) took first place in the 400 IM, Susie Trexler (freshman, Reno, NV) won the 100 breaststroke, Claire Jordan (freshman, Edmonds, WA) placed first in the 200 free and the 200 medley relay team captured the top spot in their race. For the Pirates, Samantha Kephart was the top scorer for the day, placing first in the 50 free, 500 free and 100 fly.
On the men's side, the Pioneers held eight top three spots with two first place times. Justin Lawton (senior, Tokyo, Japan) posted both of those wins, placing first in the 50 free and 100 back. Quiton Daring won two events for the Pirates--the 400IM and 100 breast--contributing to their win this evening.
The Pioneers next swim at the Northwest Invitational, which is one of the most major events of the 2007-08 swim season. The invitational, hosted by Linfield College in McMinnville, runs from November 30th through December 1st.
