Swimming at Alaska-Fairbanks

The Pioneer women's swim team will swim two meets against the Nanooks of NCAA II Alaska Fairbanks, with the two teams meeting Friday night and then again Saturday, in Fairbanks.

On Friday night, the Nanooks downed the Pioneers 149-56 (results). Koy Collier (senior, Wailuku, Hawaii) had the only race victory for the Pioneers, winning the 100 free with a 57.73. Freshman Annie Hay was second in the 50 free by .07 of a second with a 26.66.

On Saturday afternoon, the results will very similar with the Nanooks earning a 143-61 (results) victory. Koy Collier won the 100 free, shaving time off her Friday night time with a 57.33. The Pioneers nearly pulled off an upset in the final event of the meet, the 200 free relay, with the Pioneers touching .47 of a second behind the UAF squad.

The Pioneers, both the men's and women's teams, will be in action on Saturday, October 25 when they host a non-Conference home dual meet against College of Idaho at the Zehntbauer Swim Pavilion.
