Swimming Teams Contest Orange & Black Meet
By Head Coach Chris Fantz
PORTLAND, Ore. - On Saturday morning, the varsity men's and women's swimming teams competed in an intra-squad competition—the Orange & Black Meet.
Closely-matched squads contested ten co-ed races—both individual and relay events—covering distances from 25 to 300 yards.
The Orange team moved out to an early lead with a 1-2 medley relay finish. The teams went back and forth, each winning events as the Black team tried to climb back into the race. In the end, Orange won a great match-up 105-90.
Coach Chris Fantz was pleased with the event. "We had a lot of fun with this meet. Cheering and energy were high and it helped get our racing chops fired-up before two home meets next weekend."
The Pioneers swim into action again this weekend with Saturday's Alumni Meet at 10:30am and the Northwest Conference Relays on Sunday at 11:00am. The Pioneers host both meets in Zehntbauer Swimming Pavilion.
