#NewPios16 - Women's Swimming

PALATINE HILL -- Lewis & Clark expects a returning class that includes three All-Northwest Conference selections for the 2016-17 season of women's swimming. Head coach Chris Fantz announced Friday that six incoming student-athletes are scheduled to join the team.

Along with the graduated Sofia Koutzoukis, returning sophomores Eleanor Gerrior, Carly Chelovitz and Kassie Kometani earned All-NWC at last season's NWC Championship. Kometani was a first-team selection after finishing second in the 50 Freestyle final. She placed in the top six in the 100 and 200 Freestyle races as well. Gerrior and Chelovitz were part of the 200 Freestyle relay team with Koutzoukis and Kometani, earning second-team spots.

“We’re excited to welcome a strong group of new swimmers to our women’s team this fall," said Fantz, who enters his 10th season as head coach. "These great freshmen and transfer swimmers will bring depth and speed to a wide range of events for us. Our returning swimmers are motivated and I can tell our newcomers are going to be a welcome addition to the focused training environment.”
