Friday Tennis vs Linfield

The Pioneers women fell 6-3 (results) at home to the top-ranked Linfield Wildcats. The men lost 9-0 (results) at Linfield.
Amalia Nilsson (freshman, Stockholm, Sweden) stayed perfect in NWC singles, winning 6-2, 6-4. Lisa Harunaga (sophomore, Kailua, Hawaii) came back from down a set to win 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 at #2 singles. The Pioneers other point came from a victory at #2 doubles by Harunaga and her partner Maggie Peach (sophomore, Bellingham, Wash.), when they won 8-4. Nilsson and partner Whitney DeBree (freshman, Ketchum, Idaho) lost their first Conference doubles match of the season, falling 8-3 at #1.
The men were swept 9-0 by Linfield in McMinnville. George Allen
(sophomore, Madison, Wisc.) battled at #1 singles. After falling
6-2 in the first set, he battled back to draw even with a 6-2
victory in the second set. He fell 10-5 in the tiebreaking set.
The two teams take on the Willamette Bearcats Saturday morning with the men hosting Willamette at 10 am in the tennis dome. The women play in Salem.
