Pacific Four-Way Track Meet

The Pioneer men's track team finished second and the women third at Friday's Pacific Four-Way in Forest Grove (results). Sprinters Cheyene Feliz and Joevonte Mayes each had victories for the Pioneer track teams. Roxanne Gilbride earned another victory in the javelin.

For the women's team, Cheyenne Feliz (freshman, Davis, Calif.) won the 200m with a mark of 27.60, running the fastest team in a field of ten runners. Hannah Hultine (senior, Tualatin, Ore.) won the steeplechase with a time of 12:19.36. In field events, Roxanne Gilbride (junior, Bend, Ore.) won the javelin with a mark of 125-00.

On the men's side, Joevonte Mayes (freshman, Milwaukee, Ore.) won the 100m with a 11.59 and was second in the 200m with a  23.61.  Karl Dickman (sophomore, Bend, Ore.) won the 5k with a 16:33.12.

The Pioneer men edged Pacific by four points to finish in second place behind the Linfield Wildcats. The Pioneer women finished in third behind Linfield and George Fox.

The Pioneers are back in action next weekend, March 15, competing in Newberg at George Fox University.
