Track: Shotwell Invitational

The Pioneer track & field teams competed at the Shotwell Invitational, hosted by the University of Puget Sound, Saturday in Tacoma (results).

Amanda Phillips (senior, Phoenix, Ore.) won the 5000m, beating 27 other competitors, finishing with a time of 17:58.67. Cheyene Feliz (freshman, Davis, Calif.) was the top Northwest Conference finisher in two events, the 200m (26.76, 3rd place overall) and the 400m (60.86, 6th place overall), scoring 9 points for the women's team. Kelsey Croall (freshman, Newcastle, Calif.) was fifth in the 1500m with a 5:10.71. Heather Jones (freshman, Ceres, Calif.) scored in both the 100m and 400m hurdles.

Katherine Groesbeck (freshman, Seattle, Wash.) was fifth in the long jump with a mark of 15-6.75 and sixth in the triple jump with a 31-08. Roxanne Gilbride (junior, Bend, Ore.) was fifth in the javelin with a 127-05.

For the men's track team, Joevonte Mayes (freshman, Milwaukie, Ore.) had the highest finish, coming in 7th in the 100m (11.37) in a field of 31 athletes.

The women's team finished seventh. The men's team placed ninth.
