PORTLAND, Ore. -- Three Lewis & Clark competitors, including decathletes Noah Avery and David Lovitz, who finished in the top five at April's Northwest Conference Championships, were in the field for the Portland Twilight, part of which was hosted at Eldon Fix Track on the Lewis & Clark campus last weekend.
The pair competed in two events together. Avery finished just ahead of Lovitz in the 100 meters with times of 11.74 and 11.76, respectively. In the long jump, Avery finished at 20 feet, 9.75 inches (6.34m), a wind-aided mark which matched his season high, while Lovitz set a result of 20 feet, 0.25 inches (6.10m).
Avery also set a mark in the pole vault. He finished with a height of 13 feet, 10.5 inches (4.23m), a new personal best.
Samantha Bowen raced in the 800 meters, finishing fourth at 2:23.79.
