Two of the Pioneer women's basketball team members, Emily Deischel and Shawna Castle, are spending the fall semester studying in the Dominican Republic as part of the Lewis & Clark College Overseas and Off-Campus Study Program. It's a little harder to stay in basketball shape when studying abroad, but junior Emily Desichel seems dedicated to the cause.

Both players will return in time for the Northwest Conference portion of the 2007-08 playing season.
