PORTLAND, Ore. - The #7 Lewis & Clark women's basketball team earned its second consecutive at-large bid for the NCAA Division III National Tournament. The Pioneers will take on Concordia (Texas) at 5 p.m. in the first round (March 2) hosted by George Fox University in Newberg, Ore.
The Pioneers have been ranked in the top-25 all season and finished the year with a 24-3 overall record. Lewis & Clark's only losses of the season have come to George Fox, two in the regular season, and one on Saturday, Feb. 25 for the Northwest Conference Tournament Championship.
Concordia (Texas) has been outside of the top-25 all season, slowly accumulating more votes each week. In their conference championship, the Tornados took down #22 Louisiana College to capture their first American Southwest Conference Tournament Championship and the league's automatic bid to the tournament.
Sixteen first and second-round sites will host games March 2-3. Second-round winners will advance to one of four sectional sites March 10-11. Winners of the four sectional sites will advance to the national semifinals March 16-17. All games, except the final, will be played on the campuses of competing institutions.
The final will be conducted at DeVos Fieldhouse on the campus of Hope College in Holland, Mich.
