Women's Basketball Moves to 10th in Latest USA Today Top-25 Coaches Poll
LIBURN, Ga. - After starting the season off with a pre-season ranking of #11, the Lewis & Clark women's basketball team has now moved up to 10th in the nation in the first week of the USA Today Sports Division III Top-25 Coaches Poll.
The Pioneers earned a total of 120 points after earning convincing wins over UC Santa Cruz and Corban over the weekend. On Saturday, in their home opener, the Pioneers picked up a 75-58 win over UC Santa Cruz with senior Kristina Williams scoring 29 points. Williams then helped lead the Pioneers over Corban the next night, scoring 33 points in the teams 82-54 victory.
Lewis & Clark is one of two Northwest Conference teams ranked in the top-25. The other NWC team, George Fox, are currently ranked #2 but have yet to play a game this season.
