FIRCREST, Wash. - The Lewis & Clark women's golf team put together a strong showing at the Puget Sound Invitational, ending the invite in third place with a team score of 679.
The Pioneers finished the second round five strokes better than day one, concluding the second round with a 337. The Whitman Missionaries won the invite with a 660, while the Whitworth Pirates finished in second place with a 675.
Sofia Vigil put together a solid weekend with a 164 (83+81) which earned her a fourth place finish. Vigil finished just six strokes out of first place, which went to Michal Schuster of Whitworth who shot a 158.
Arielle Valdez shaved six strokes off her round two score, finishing Sunday with an 81. Combined with her 87 from day one, Valdez finished tied for seventh place with a 168. Claire Burke ended the invite in 10th place with a 172 (85+87), while Clarisa Witherup concluded the team score for Lewis & Clark with a 176 (87+89) earning her 14th place.
Abbi Rautenberg took home 17th place with a 181 after taking five strokes off her day one score (93+88).
The Pioneers return to action on April 5 at the Northwest Conference Spring Classic.
