KENNEWICK, Wash. - Arielle Valdez and Claire Burke finished in the top-20 for the Lewis & Clark women's golf team at the Northwest Conference Spring Classic, helping the Pioneers put together a fifth place finish.
The #10 George Fox Bruins won the classic with a 660, while Whitworth and Willamette finished tied for second place with a 690.
Despite difficult playing conditions, Valez and Burke were failry consistent for the Pioneers both days. Valdez ended the second round with an 89 to go with her 86 from day one, finishing in 13th place. Burke concluded the tournament with a 180 (85+95), earning a share of 19th place.
Sofia Vigil had the best day two score for Lewis & Clark, finishing with an 87 after shooting a 94 on day one. The finish earned Virgil a share of 21st place. Abbi Rautenberg rounded out the Pioneers team score with a 217 (38th place).
Sydney Maluenda of George Fox won the classic, shooting a 153 (77+76), while Taneesha Sra of Willamette finished second (165) and Melissa Nugent of George Fox took home third (166).
