Women's Golf Finishes Fourth at Easter Invite


WALLA WALLA, Wash. - The Lewis & Clark women's golf team finished fourth at the Whitman College Easter Invite hosted on Veteran's Memorial Golf Course and Wine Valley Golf Course over the weekend. 

The Pioneers finished with a 685 team score, shooting a 336 on day one and a 349 during the second round. Whitman won the event with a 627. 

Three of the Pioneers finished consecutively, with Arielle Valdez leading the way with an 11th place finish. Valdez ended the first round with an 81 before shooting an 82 on day two for a 163. Sofia Vigil finished the invite in 12th place with a 163. Vigil had a strong opening round, shooting a 79 which she followed up with an 87 on day two. Claire Bruke concluded the tournament with a 168, putting together an 82 and 86 respectively. 

Abbi Rautenberg rounded out the Pioneers team score with a 188 (94+94) finishing in 25th place. Jessica Rosenblatt also competed for the Pioneers finishing with a 210 (108+102). 

Next up for the Pioneers is the final Northwest Conference Championship on April 25-26 on the OGA course.
