HILLSBORO, Ore. -- Competing only during the spring season, junior Mady Rhodenbaugh posted strong finishes in the Northwest Conference Spring Classic and the NWC Championship last week to earn All-NWC honors, the conference office announced last week.
Rhodenbaugh dropped three strokes off her score in the final round of the NWC Championship to finish ninth overall with a 17-over-par 82-79-161. The performance followed a seventh-place result at the NWC Spring Classic where she shot 76-81-157. Her first-round total in the NWC Spring Classic is the lowest for Rhodenbaugh in the last two seasons.
The Pioneers finished fourth overall at the NWC Championship.
After missing the fall season to study overseas, Rhodenbaugh returned to the team and finished in a tie for first with teammate Annika Clunk at the Willamette Valley Cup in March. Rhodenbaugh posted 82-78-160, but lost a coin flip to Clunk for medalist honors.
During her freshman season, Rhodenbaugh earned an All-NWC selection after earning medalist honors at the Pacific Invite and three NWC Student-Athlete of the Week selections. She had four top-10 finishes and was nominated for the Female Rookie of the Year award at the 2016 ELCYS (Excellence at Lewis & Clark's Year of Sports).
Lewis & Clark returns all of its golfers from this past season including Annie McCutchan, who led the Pioneers in the fall before studying overseas this spring.
