The Pioneer women's soccer team lost an exhibition match against Simon Fraser 3-0 Monday afternoon in Burnaby, British Columbia.

The Simon Fraser Clan pressured the Pioneer defense, with the ball in the L&C zone most of the game. Pioneer goalkeeper Nora Germano (senior, Los Altos, Calif.) made a sprawling save at the twenty-minute mark to keep the game knotted at 0-0. The Clan managed to evade Germano ten minutes later to hit the game-winner. Simon Fraser extended the lead to 2-0 after scoring a second goal with less than a minute left in the first period. They added a third goal in the second half for a 3-0 victory.

Germano had ten saves for the Pioneers. Forward Lisa Housman (senior, Beverly Hills, Calif.) had the lone shot for the Pioneers.

As an exhibition game, the contest does not count in the Pioneers win/loss record. The Pioneers officially begin the season on Saturday when they host the Pioneers of Cal State East Bay at Griswold Stadium. The game begins at 12 noon.
