The Pioneer women's soccer team tied their home opener this afternoon versus Cal State East Bay with a score of 1-1.

The Lewis and Clark women struck early with Lisa Housman (senior, Beverly Hills, Calif.) breaking away from the Cal State defense and shooting under the goalie just five minutes into the game. The LC defense held until the thirty six minute mark when Cal State's Christina Quitasol scored on an assist from teammate Michelle Garcia.

The score would remain 1-1 throughout the second half as well as through two ten-minute overtimes. Keeper Nora Germano (senior, Los Altos, Calif.) had an impressive 15 saves on the game. The Pioneer women had 16 shots this afternoon, with 8 shots on goal.

The Lewis and Clark women next face Western Oregon in Monmouth , Oregon on September 8th with a 12:00pm match. They return to Palatine Hill on September 9th to take on the Oregon Institute of Technology women.
